Lampworking Torch Flow Rates and Operating Pressures

Below you will find the maximum flow rates and required operating pressures for many of the most popular lampworking torches on the market.
We are always working to expand this list and hope it can be a resource for the broader lampworking community.
If you have flow rate or pressure data for any torches not listed here, please get in touch with us. We would love more data!

All burners were set at the maximum flame setting that yields the hottest flame without distorting the solid blue feature of the Bethlehem flame. The numbers are expressed in Liters Per Minute (LPM). The fuel used for the Alpha and Bravo burners was propane gas that was regulated by approximately 2 pounds per square inch (psi). The oxygen was delivered from a compressed gas cylinder with a regulator and set for approximately 8psi. The fuel used for the Champion and Grand burners was Propane gas that was regulated by approximately 5 pounds per square inch (psi). The oxygen was delivered from a compressed gas cylinder and set for approximately 20psi. Burner flames used for soft glass will not require as much heat as a flame for hard or borosilicate glass. All Bethlehem Burners can work both soft and borosilicate glass.
